McIntosh Tours is a charming, family-run tour operator nestled in the heart of Scotland. Founded over six years ago, this small but passionate company has been providing visitors from all around the globe with unforgettable experiences and enchanting tours amidst Scotland’s breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage

What sets McIntosh Tours apart is not just their in-depth knowledge of the region but the warmth and personal touch they infuse into every aspect of their tours. Their dedication to sharing the beauty and history of the highlands, and providing authentic and unforgettable experiences to travellers has secured their place as a company who’s reputation is second to none.

With each tour they lead, the McIntoshes leave an indelible mark on the hearts of their guests, forging a true Highland legacy that will endure for years to come. Unlike larger commercial tour operators, McIntosh Tours takes pride in its personalised and authentic approach. Each tour is carefully curated to cater to the unique interests and preferences of their guests.

Whether it’s exploring ancient castles, discovering hidden lochs, hiking through rugged glens, or sampling traditional Scottish delicacies, every itinerary is designed to showcase the best of what Scotland has to offer. Their highly skilled and specialised planning team bring their rich knowledge and experience of Scotland to share with travellers, carefully adapting itineraries by land and sea to suit their needs and interests.

Picture a wilderness picnic with live music on a remote beach with pristine white sand and views across the ocean towards Nova Scotia and the Americas; or a hilltop whisky tasting with an expert describing the provenance of the drams amid the surrounding hills and glens.

Raymond, who established the company in 2017, is an Atholl Highlander, a Highland dancer, Director of Pitlochry Highland Games, a commercial skipper, devoted skier and a very interesting person. It is his emphasis on the relationships developed with each of their groups that makes travellers, by this time friends, coming back to the same Highland welcome year after year.

Land tours can be taken from any part of the country and sailing tours are usually out of Oban. They tour on land in luxury Land Rover Discovery 5 vehicles and on sea in a 41’ Jeanneau Sun Odyssey sailing yacht. They often trace families ancestry and find places from the past for families to visit. Imagine staying in your great granny’s cottage in the Highlands or visiting the church where they got married!

The McIntoshes strongly believe that Scotland’s true essence can be best experienced through its people. That’s why they often collaborate with local experts, artisans, musicians and storytellers to enhance the guests’ understanding of the region’s history, folklore, and contemporary culture. It’s not just about visiting the landmarks but also about connecting with the heart and soul of Scotland.
