Your chance to win a luxury escape to the Isle of Skye for you and a guest

Think of the most amazing parts of Scotland, and, of course, your mind will turn to Skye. The dramatic setting for many blockbuster films and TV programmes, Skye is regularly listed among the world’s best-loved islands.

The view from the restaurant at Duisdale House

Now you, our loyal readers, are being given the opportunity to win a never-to-be forgotten break, with accommodation in one of the finest hotels on the ‘Misty Isle’, Duisdale House. Our winner will enjoy two nights’ dinner, bed and breakfast for two in a Deluxe room at Duisdale – a prize worth £1,000.

Duisdale House

Part of the multi award-winning Sonas Collection of hotels from former Scottish Hotelier of the Year Anne Gracie Gunn, Duisdale House overlooks the Atlantic waters of the Sound of Sleat towards the Knoydart wilderness. Twice voted Scotland’s Hotel of the Year, it was further enhanced in both 2021 and 2022, with several stunning developments. These include luxury lodges and a Master Suite that gazes down on beautifully manicured gardens and enticing woodland.

Rooms have been refurbished in authentic Highlands style, using material from the world’s oldest tweed mill on the Isle of Lewis. Duisdale was described in the Fodor’s Guide 2022 as “boutique chic at its very best.” Its 2 AA Rosette restaurant offers imaginative menus that make the most of the abundance of local produce.

In addition to awe-inspiring scenery and historic castles, Skye is famous for its wildlife and birdlife and Duisdale can arrange wildlife-spotting tours.

The hotel is only half an hour’s drive from the road bridge to the mainland, and a couple of miles from the ferry at Armadale, which links Skye with Mallaig on the west coast. Duisdale’s sister hotels are the nearby nine-bedroom Toravaig House Hotel, and the 21-bedroom Skeabost House Hotel on the shores of Loch Snizort in the north of Skye.

The hotels are overseen by Group General Manager Andreas Maszczyk, who has previously headed up five-star properties the InterContinental Edinburgh The George, and Voco St David’s Cardiff.
