Cringletie House Hotel wins three AA Rosettes

Head Chef Patrick Bardoulet and his team have won a coveted third AA rosette for the Sutherland Restaurant at Cringletie House Hotel in the Scottish Borders.

The recognition comes less than a year after the French-born chef took the helm in the country house hotel’s kitchen.

Cringletie House Hotel’s General Manager and Patrick’s wife Vivienne Bardoulet commented: “Patrick and his team have really taken the Sutherland Restaurant to a new level and established it as the place for fine dining south of Edinburgh.

“To receive a third AA rosette so soon after our arrival is extremely rewarding and shows that the restaurant is going from strength to strength.”

Patrick Bardoulet’s style of cooking is classic French, with Lobster Thermidore being one of his favourite dishes. He has worked in the Scotland since 1999, most recently heading up the kitchen team at The Horseshoe Inn.

Patrick said: “Working in Scotland means I have access to some of the best fresh ingredients in the world, even before the top chefs in Paris, which makes it easier to serve delicious, fresh food throughout the year.

“What’s more, Cringletie House still retains a traditional kitchen garden where we grow most of our own herbs and vegetables on the grounds. Add to that the fantastic traditional country house setting of Cringletie House and it’s easy to see why this is the must-dine destination near Edinburgh.”
