The sixth annual Scottish hotel awards were held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow. Around 400 people from the country's vital hospitality industry attended. Running right alongside Ayr's famous racecourse, home of the
Scottish Grand National, is the Edwardian – but now perfectly
contemporary – Western House Hotel. Director William Gorol
commented after the win: “We're thrilled to have won this most
prestigious of awards and honoured that a hotel in the southwest of
Scotland has been recognised for its gold star standards and high staff
calibre.” Amost apt winner, being right in the heart of ‘Burns
