Scotland hotel group Apex is about to open its newest hotel in the capital, breathing new life into a historic building which was Edinburgh's first purpose built hotel.
The Grade A-Listed building still boasts many of its original features and Apex says it has been carefully restored to showcase the impressive architecture, including its grand reception rooms.
The new Apex Waterloo Place Hotel will join Apex's existing portfolio of four star hotels in Edinburgh, London and Dundee.
The 187 bedrooms will combine contemporary style and comfort to create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel will also include meeting and event facilities, a bar and restaurant, as well as a health suite including a swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room.
Following the closure of the original hotel in the late 1880s the building has been used as a base for the North British Railway company and more recently by the City Council....
