A perfect five

The Queen Mother’s former residence in Caithness has held on to its prestigious five-stars as a visitor attraction for the second year running.

Inspectors from VisitScotland, the national tourism organisation, visited the castle to thoroughly evaluate the castle and grounds including new eco-build visitor centre and animal park.

The ‘five star’ award represents an 85 per cent pass rate which the Castle of Mey sailed through with flying colours.
