The Fleming Collection: Scots Abroad

The Fleming Collection: Scots Abroad (Issue 3)

The Fleming Collection, with works by Scottish artists of various eras and movements, and Scottish scenes by non-Scottish artists, is recognised as one of the best private collections of Scottish art in the world (see also The Black Bottle, Peploe, Issue 1). The collection began in 1968 by Fleming, the merchant bankers, which has Scottish origins, and today includes roughly 1,000 oils, watercolours, prints and drawings. The exhibition features art inspired by travel abroad, with works by Sir David Wilkie, G. Leslie Hunter and more modern artists such as Alberto Morrocco. Scots Abroad runs from 2nd July – 7th September 2002 at 13 Berkeley Street, London W1.
