Francis Bacon: Portraits and Heads
June 4th – September 4th 2005
Francis Bacon is celebrated as one of the most important British artists of the 20th century. The human figure was a dominant subject in his work; his paintings of men and women go far beyond a simple likeness and instead are portraits of complex psychological states. This is the first exhibition devoted to Bacon in Scotland.
