New York's glitterati are set to turn out in force for April's Icons of Scotland Award, staged by Scotland Magazine.

The Icons of Scotland Awards, to be held at the Starlight Roof, Waldorf Astoria on Tuesday April 5, celebrates the essence of what makes Scotland great and will feature the finest music, drink, food, history, creativity and innovation.

And the black tie event will bring together some of New York's top personalities to witness the bestowing of seven awards covering everything from best performance artist and author to tourist attractions and American entrepreneurs of Scottish descent.

This year's event, the third in New York, is by far and away the biggest staged by Scotland Magazine, reflecting our phenomenal growth in the United States. The event has become an integral part of Tartan Week and is again supported by close friends of Scotland Magazine Visit Scotland, Drambuie, the Macallan and the influential American Scottish Foundation.

The shortlists were put together by a specially selected editorial panel and include such names as current rock music darlings Franz Ferdinand as well as more established names.
