Antique golf ball is a big hit

200 year old golf ball...

An 18th century golf ball linked to renowned St Andrews professional, William Robertson has been bought for £24,000 ($45,000) at an auction at Lyon and Turnbull’s in Edinburgh. The ball, which dates from 1790, is made from a leather shell stuffed with feathers and has become one of the most expensive in the world. It was bought by the owner of Valderrama, Spain, one of Europe’s most prestigious golf courses, where it will be on display in the museum for the foreseeable future.
