Tavern on the Green. New York. Wednesday 5 April marks the 4th Icons of Scotland, the showcases of Scotland’s finest, awarded in the very heart of New York City during Tartan Week. This year held at Tavern on the Green, Icons of Scotland opens an evening that celebrates the very best of all things Scottish. Starting at 5.00pm, and with a capacity of only 250 select guests, Icons of Scotland begins with a celebration of Scotland’s finest music, history, heritage and food, followed by the presentation of the Icon of Scotland 2006 (awarded to a leading Scottish person) and the Heart of Scotland 2006 (awarded to Scotland’s leading destination of the year). The evening then develops in to a celebration of Scotland’s greatest export – whisky, with Whisky Live running from 6.30pm to 10.00pm
