Bundanoon Highland Gathering - 21 April 2012

The 35th annual Highland Gathering Festival is where Bundanoon becomes Brigadoon for a day. If you're looking for the perfect family fun day out then head to Australia's premier Scottish Highland Gathering - Bundanoon is Brigadoon. Scotland with a 'wee' bit of Aussie flavour. The gathering is a non-profit, registered charity event that readily distributes the funds from the day to local charities and volunteer groups that assist the organisers in the administration of the gathering. There's a street parade with marching pipe bands, Clan Societies, children's decorated floats, The Tartan Warriors - lifting the Bundanoon Stones of Manhood and 'Highlander' Celtic Rock Band. Over 120 speciality crafts, souvenirs and food stalls. At the oval, massed pipes and drums, highland dancing and Scottish country dancing, traditional and not so traditional highland games, Swordplay - the School of Theatrical Fencing and Stage Combat and the Southern Highlands Kennel and Obedience Club.
